Accuracy of chlamydia urine tests?

Hi,
Just wondering if chlamydia urine tests can be wrong? my gf recently went to doctor because of irregular bleeding, pain during sex and lower abdominal pain. She was given a urine test which came back negative and also had a pelvic ultrasound which was fine. We have been together for about 4 months.

There is a more specific test we use in our laboratory for chlamydia. It is very accurate. It is not a urine test, but actually a genital swab.

Her symptoms sounds like it could be a number of things though.

What If Men Decided to Never Have Sex With Women Forever?

Men are afraid of diseases, AIDs, HIVs, STDs and children birth, etc. They would become virgins untill marriage or going on a date, except wearing a condom to not get a woman pregnant so men would not live in a nightmare with babies.

To begin with:

A) That is statement, not a question.

B) You grammar is nearly unreadable (although, to your credit, your spelling is fairly correct).

C) Without the aid of time travel, it is impossible for people to “become virgins”

D) Remaining a virgin until going on a date isn’t much of an accomplishment.

Anyway to answer your question, that would not happen because:

A) some (actually most) men want children at some point in their lives.

B) Condoms break/leak (no form of birth control is 100% effective)

people born with stds

I’m pretty much against getting vaccinated for diseases. POLL: Are you like that?

Oh…

And most people don’t understand this…

Gardasil does not protect you from getting Cervical cancer directly. It prevents HPVs which are STDs. In order to get that STD, you would have to have sex with somebody who has had multiple parners because nobody is born with it.

So therefore if I’m not having sex, I can’t get HPVs and Gardisil would be a waste of money…that just for me though…it really depends on the choices you make in life
Gardasil
No…I’m not sexually active, and when I am ready, I’ll be married and know that my husband hasn’t been with other women.

Swine flu
No…It’s just too new. I know you’ve probably heard this one a lot.

Menactra
No…I just don’t feel like it.

Any others? I can’t think of any.

I have gotten my diptheria/tetnis shot and my hep B shot though.

no.
that’s ridiculous.
vaccinations are there to stop the diseases.
not getting diseases… hmm, that’s a good thing right?
and as for the HPV thing, yes i know in an ideal world no one would get STDs, and you and your husband would be each other’s only partner.
but that’s really not how the real world works.
your future husband may lie to you about previous partners because he wouldn’t want to lose you over some mistake he made in the past.
and how about if you get date-raped or something? you can catch STDs that way.
or if you get really drunk and do something you regret.

yes, i know these are all really unlikely, but they’re not impossible.
the vaccine is there for that.
and no vaccine would be allowed to be mass produced without going through very strict tests and trials first.

i would always encourage vaccination. otherwise we’ll plunge back into the days of the black death and the like.

but then again, i’m from england, and all of my vaccinations are free. which is nice =]

chlamydial infection in women

Chlamydia & Gonorrhea in Women?

Pls enlighten me on Chlamydial and Gonorrheal infection in women.Would it stay in every women’s system even after years of being infected from it? Could both be traced in either our urine or blood if we want to?

I don’t think so, at least not in most cases. But that’s why you should go for your physical including pap test every year. I do know that if you have Chlamydia long enough without knowing it, you may reduce or even eliminate your chances of ever having children.

types of std tests

types of std tests
I recently went for an STD checkup at a clinic in hopsital. Does anyone know what sends me a letter from the media

They sent me a letter after 2 weeks due to the technical difficulites of the tests were "inconclusive" and I have to repeat this test, but said the test was. Does anyone know what that means? i am i have HIV terror Or is it just a standard letter if you have found all kinds of STDs?

I had the same thing happens to me and reason for the test was inconclusive because the sample is contaminated in some way. I have also learned to work in the medical profession that certain types of drugs that are in can also lead to inconclusive results. And honestly, do not say it was inconclusive whether tested positive for something. I know it's scary, but as soon as possible to care this question, the better you will feel. You took the 1st step to begin to be tested with no recoil now! Good luck!

How To Get An STD Test

pictures of oral syphilis

Testing for Syphilis? Confidentiality?

I had oral sex when I was 10 and I think i contracted Syphilis.
I’v had small red bumps on my hands sort of like a rash that are painless and go away fairly quickly (nothing like the pictures on google though…) Also when i take a shower the tops of my feet turn a bright red and have this hard-to-see sort of white webbing under the redness (possibly scaring?).

If I go to get tested for syphilis what will it cost me?

Can I do it confidentially without my parents knowing?

If they ask for my “partners” name do I HAVE to give it?
(I haven’t seen him for about 5 years)

What If i refuse to give my partners name–Will they still treat me?

Last question… Is the treatment expensive? (If i have it… then i would have had it for 6 years)

you can go to planned parent hood and you can get checked out for free all you will have to do is piss in a cup

list of stds and symptoms

I have a question about male symptoms and the possibility of STD?

My partner advised me that he has experienced burning urination and severe diarrhea for two days, and that his doctor advised him to come in and be screened for STDs. We have only been with each other for the past 14 months, and have both been screened within the last 6 months. I have no symptoms, and was just screened last week during my annual cervical exam. My partner is very upset, and I tried telling him that in all likelihood it is not an STD, but something like a UTI.
However, in searching symptoms I cannot find anything STD-like, or urinary infection that lists burning urination and diarrhea together as possible symptoms for a male.
And my question is, what is the likelihood this could be an STD versus something simple like a UTI?

It might be a combination of two different problems. He probably got a stomach bug or something, and that run down his immune system causing a UTI. It happens to me quite often- after I fight something really nasty, like the flu or something, I usually get a UTI or even sometimes a kidney infection.
