Im very obsessed with keeping myself clean. I could never handle it if I ever had any type of std of any sort, even if its cureable. But nowdays, so many people cheat and arent faithful at all. Ive never cheated and never had any one night stands, Ive only been with women I was in a very serious relationship with. How do you know if someone has an std? What can i do to protect myself? If I pull out a crucifix will ppl who are infected’s eyes burn and they wont be able to come near me? What can i do to keep them AWAY? B/c I never want to be infected with any type of std whatsoever, all the people i’ve known who has them are very vile and dirty ppl and sleep w anything. So are there any signs if someone has them?
Once while on a diving vacation in Belize Central America, I sat on the beach with two local guys drinking sun downers. After I finished my drink, I took the half lime out of my glass and rubbed my hands with it. One of the guys looked at me and asked if I am going out for the evening. I said no and he asked again ‘are you sure’. When I questioned why he doubts my answer he said, ‘because you were rubbing the lime on your hands. Here in Belize we do that if we go out with a new girl and then watch her face when touching her privates’ If it does not irritate her he thinks she does not have STD.
Over the past several years I have had my annual well-woman exam and always had normal pap smears. Last year my husband and I got pregnant, and during my first visit with my OB/GYN they did a routine pap smear which also came back normal. I gave birth at the end of January, and just recently went in for my 6-week postpartum check-up. They did a pap smear and the results came back abnormal so today I went back for a colposcopy and biopsy. I am extremely nervous right now, because I don’t know why my pap smear was abnormal. What might cause my abnormal pap smear? Should I be concerned about STDs and get tested? I read somewhere that HIV might cause abnormal pap smears and now I’m completely freaked out.
I think you are getting confused with HPV (Human Papilloma Virus), most women are exposed to the HPV virus at some stage and young girls are now being vaccinated against it to protect them against certain types of cervical cancer in the future.
Try not to worry, the best person to discuss this with is your Gynaecologist. There are various reasons why a smear is abnormal and most abnormalities are quite minor and get better on their own without you needing treatment.
Without knowing exactly what your pap smear result said its impossible to say what caused these changes.

Sorry man- 3 out of 4 women DO NOT have symptoms (1 out of 2 men)… If you had slept with 4 women, statistically, one should have had symptoms!
Sleeping with only 2 women- well, none of you needed to show symptoms to be passing the disease!
Ok, I made a mistake and slept with more people than I should have. I recently got tested because I showed symptoms of Gonorrhea. I tested positive for Gonorrhea (negative for HIV and Chlamydia). Well this garbage free testing place doesn’t even provide treatment. I found that out after, and now they referred me to a clinic that doesn’t have an appointment available for a new patient until August.
I am currently working 9-5 Mon-Fri (a job I just started) and going to college (summer school) Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Most clinics operate 9-5. There is no way I can take off work since I’m on a 90 day probationary period and I’m not even 30 days in. Is there anyway I can get the treatment OTC?
If not is there anything you can recommend?

Try to speak with your boss about getting the day of your appointment off. If your employer will not let you have that day off then continue to work until the day of the appointment and call in before your shift starts. Even if you risk losing your job you MUST keep your appointment with the clinic and be seen by a doctor to be treated for your STD. If Gonorrhea goes untreated it can lead to infertility and even death. It is a serious condition that demands treatment. Your job is not worth the risk. Explain to your employer *well ahead of time* that you have an important medical appointment scheduled in August that you simply can not miss. Most employers will be reasonable and grant you the time off if you come to them well ahead of time (in your case over a month ahead of time) and request the time off for medical reasons. You could even suggest taking only several hours off and returning to work after the appointment. Whatever happens though…do NOT miss your appointment. It is critical that you be treated for your condition. Good luck.
i was originally treated for chlamydia and my symptoms cleared up except the red itchy rash i have, and i went back to the doc and he said i have gonorrhea and treated me with 250mg cetrafixone 3 days ago…and my rash is still here..
You should go back to your docotr some strains of gonnorhea are resistant to certain antibiotics so you can try a different antibitotic instead.
