Is it free in the state of Iowa to undergo testing for Chlamydia or any other STD?
Also, how much would the treatment be for a male for Chlamydia if he did not have insurance?
At some places they charge and some don’t, and you won’t need any insurance most of the time…you can call this number to get free testings in your area (1-866-RAP-IT-UP) Good luck

Why did I test negative for chlamydia and my boyfriend test positive.?
We were both tested on the same day at different clinics. He got his results back sooer than I. He said his were positive, a few weeks later mine were negative. He says he hasn’t been with anyone else. I have, but used protection. His reason, that he claims his doctor told him, was that symtoms are sometimes not present in women and that is he reason for the negative test, but I would think that an infection is an infection and if I had it the test would be positive even if I had no symptoms. Was the doctor at his clinic accurate? We both took swab tests. If anyone can help it would be appreciated.
Other issue I see here is that, chlamydia is a localized infection, which means that depending on where you contracted you can give it from that source. For example if you contracted chlamydia from someone that had it in their mouth, then If you kiss that person and then you give oral sex to your bf without a condom, then you can pass it to him via oral sex. same can be apply for anal, vaginal sex. He can say he didn’t have sex with other people, and is up to you to believe it, he is your bf. Best of luck.
Ok so about a week ago i noticed little sores near my genitals and i have been freaking out since then!
Im only 17 so i dont want to go get checked out
some background info
-i have never had sex without a condom
-the sores appeared a day after i purchased a different kind of razor for shaving(could if be from that)
-the sores do not hurt, itch or tingle
-i have not had any flu like symptoms
-the sores are beggining to go away
-they have not broken or oozed
If i do have herpes it has been 5 months since i had sex with the girl i could have got it from..And they say in men the first sign is usually within 3-7 days of interaction.. is this possible?
Help Please

Do clinics/hospitals test pregnant women for HPV/Genital wart?
Im now 8 months pregnant and in the shower i discovered a bump. Its painless only one and its clear located right on the opening of my vagina.Im really worried about this. Ive already had STD test by my doctor and everything came back negative, if this was a genital wart wouldn’t my doctor inform me of this already?
yes! of course! they must test you! if you have some worries then juust go to your doctor and let him examine ! let him look – is this warts or something else!!
anyway – HPV is not genetic, it’s usually passed by skin contact when the baby comes through the birth canal when the mother has an out break of genital warts. After that baby can have mouth or/and throat warts…
There are things that can be done to prevent genital warts from being passed on when the mother gives birth. Such as having a c-section if there is an out break at the time of delivery. So if you do not have any outbreaks – then no need to do c-section!
My girlfriend tends to bleed during sex, i’ve been with her 8 months and lately had a rocky period. I got tested for chlamydia and were clear, but i’ve heard this can be a symptom of gonorrhoea. I’m aware women can bleed for a variety of reasons, but i’m unsure if this could be a sign of something. What is the testing for gonorrhoea like?
No, bleeding during sex is usually not normal. If she is having this problem she should see her gynecologist to rule out problems such as STD’s or cervical cancer. She will need a papsmear to rule out these problems.
As for you, if you are interested in being testing for gonorrhea, it is possible to do that test through a simple urine sample instead of the “q-tip in the urethra” method that you have probably heard about. But, I highly suggest that she see a doctor herself for a papsmear in order to rule out any serious problems such as cervical cancer.
I have applied for a life insurance policy. I have an std( not hiv) will they find out from the blood test.
Also do they tell the agent the result of the test and get into specifics?
I am an insurance agent and can tell you they do not test for STD other then HIV or AIDS but they do ask. If you lie and tell them you do not have any and it comes back to bite you they can deny the benefit.
If you are not comfortable having the agent do the medical questioning, you can ask to have a 3rd party do the interview.
Here are the questions relating to STD.
Genital or rectal warts, herpes, condyloma, or any other sexually transmitted disease? So obviously you would need to answer YES.
Also, as an agent, we could care less about your personal history. We are doing our job and that is it. If it is a friend who is the agent i can see the dilemma.
I was recently diagnosed with hsv 2. My doctor has prescribed me to use valtrex and Zovirax cream. I have been also been studying and reading wonderful things about using natural, herbal supplements and topical treatments for the use of genital herpes. I am just confused as to what is better? Anyone with personal experience have positive benefits of using natural supplements (l-lysine, zinc, goldenseal root, etc.?) versus using a prescription treatment?
Please share your opinions and experience with both of these methods. Thank you.
I have uses Valtrex and Lysine. They work the same way, Lysine is a natural antiviral so it can help to suppress and treat out breaks and doesn’t come with side affects like medicine can. Just don’t take both Lysine and antiviral medication at the same time. I prefer using Valtrex, Lysine doesn’t do much for me.
