Sex Assault/ Why did Planned Parenthood deny me an STD test?
I was sexually assaulted so I made an appt. at PP for a pelvic exam. I called the receptionist today and explained that along with my appt. I would like to get an STD test because I was sexually assaulted.
She told me I would have to go the the Health Departmetn for testing.
I KNOW she is lying because I looked on the website for the Planned Parenthood region in which I live. They say that all of their locations have STD testing available and FREE HIV testing.
So why did she lie to me?
Call again ask to have the testing done. If the person give you the same answer tell them that Their websites says that all centers give the test. If they still deny that they have it, contact the website and inform them of the center that is doing a poor job at helping you and tell them exactly what happened.
where is the best place to get tested for STD’s ? I am still on my parent’s health insurance plan so I’m afraid if I go to my regular doctor, the tests will show up on the insurance billing that my parents receive…So where can I go to remain anonymous?
Well here in Ohio we have planned parenthood and im pretty sure that they do STD tests there at little or no cost but im not sure.I think your best bet to remain anonymous would be to look for a planned parenthood clinic or a county free clinic, call them and see what they say.
As an aside I don’t know your parents but i cant help but say that it might be better to tell them honestly what is going on and you might need their help. Honesty is usually a good thing.
writting a paper about sex education would like to here some opinions…?
i am currently writing a paper about why sex education is important in schools and not just the human body and abstinence but EVERYTHING std’s birthcontrol methods everything i am curiouse to know how other people feel about the subject and do not worry about my writing in this question or punctuation i am writing very informally
Full on sex education is necessary. Kids are going to have sex. It is foolish to think otherwise. They need the knowledge, so that they can make informed decisions and protect themselves.
To get the STD test results back. I know that the tests for HIV take a while but what about tests for diseases like herpes or HPV? Do the results come back the same day? If not, how many days (on average) does it take? Also, how reliable are these tests? Are they at least 95% reliable?
Note: I didn’t take the test yet and I don’t mean STD tests made from a home test kit; I’m talking about tests that are performed by a doctor in the hospital or a medical office.

How old do you have to be to get a STD checkup at a free clinic?
I made an appointment with a local pregnancy test center to get an STD testing, but they never asked for my age. Do they allow everyone, or do you have to go with a guardian if you’re under a certain age?
Every clinic will have different “regulations” but they will likely not turn you away because you are young.
Regardless of age, public health clinics want to keep everyone protected and taken care of… and if there’s any chance of you having an STD, they would want to help.
Does any1 know if home std testing kits (for males) are accurate? If so, where would i be ably to buy one fairly soon (aside from the internet)… Thank you!
