would drinking alcohol the night before getting an sti test have any effect on the results? also once the tests/swabs have been taken how long does it normally take for the results to come back to your doctors and for them to let you know?

Your alcohol consumption will not have any effect on your results. The time it takes for your results to come back depends on what type of tests your physician uses and how fast the lab is. Typically results only take 24 to 48 hours.

Suggestions needed to balance my vaginal ph and boost my immune system.?

I’m 35 and get chronic vaginal bacterial infections (for the past 10 years). I’ve been to MANY doctors and none of them have been able to help me prevent the infections from coming back. The docs do prescribe antibiotics but over the years I’ve probably built an immune system to them! Yes I’ve been tested for some of the common stds out there. The results were negative. The doctors I’ve been to just keep telling me that “some women are just more prone to vaginal infections than others”. Well duhhhhhh! So how do I prevent these infections? All of the basic, common sense preventative measurements have already been tried…anyone out there have any advice?

I had the exact same problem, and I found something that works GREAT for me. It’s a product called RepHresh. CVS carries it. It’s a gel that regulates the vaginal pH. For me, it was a miracle cure. It’s kind of expensive, but worth it. You use it a couple times a week.

man that is a touchy topic, i do my graduate studies on viruses, not too much on the one that causes HIV, but to explain this, everyones body is wired slightly differently the child may have aids, and possibly the particular stand he caught was slow acting which takes up to 10years for physical symptoms to occur, as apposed to the fast acting strain which can cause a person do develop full blown aids in less than a year. and well most medications typically cause aids like symptoms as it is, i’ve read of case studies where people with hiv out live people with hiv taking medication particularly azt, so i guess its safe to say that this is an exeptional case
