sti testing results
alcohol the night before an sti test??
would drinking alcohol the night before getting an sti test have any effect on the results? also once the tests/swabs have been taken how long does it normally take for the results to come back to your doctors and for them to let you know?
Your alcohol consumption will not have any effect on your results. The time it takes for your results to come back depends on what type of tests your physician uses and how fast the lab is. Typically results only take 24 to 48 hours.

another std?
in june i was diagnosed with hpv and got a treatment which removed my abnormal cells on my cervix. since then ive noticed many changes in my vagina. my urine has a very strong smell almost like eggs or something. and recently my vagina was really dry and itchy and it hurt to have sex. it had a foul odor even right out of the shower. me and my boyfriend are in a committed relationship and only have sex with each other. however we don’t use a condom. he has these pimple type things on his thighs and one right above his stomach. im not sure if their actually pimples or if i should be worried about herpes or something. i sometimes get them too but ive gotten them for as long as i can remember, even before i was sexually active. all the signs of herpes have got me worried cuz it all sounds about right.
Start with the good news the pimple things are more likely to be in grown hair ! Hpv 1 in 8 people are infected. The virus has a cycle of up to eight years, and it is for life! The odor sounds like you might have an infection, So go to the doctors and start to wear condoms.

When you pee in a cup for a physical, is that urine tested for any STD’s?
A few months ago, I received oral sex (I’m a dude) and I’m slightly afraid of an STD showing up when I get my next physical, which will probably happen in the next few months.
I’m 16, so I can’t visit the doctor on my own, nor can my results be kept private IF I go to my family doctor.
However, I CAN get anonymously STD at a local clinic. Once I get a spare moment (My life is hectic. haha) I intend on getting a ride to that clinic and doing some testing. The only problem is that I don’t think I can get treatment (ie. Antibiotics) without parental consent.
So, yea. Is the urine test you get from a routine pediatric physical tested for any STD’s?
I’ve have no symptoms EXCEPT for a random VERY mild urinary burning sensation. It usually happens maybe once a day – if at all – and when I was on vacation in Jamaica, it didn’t hurt once. Actually, it really never bothers me much and when I don’t even think about it, I never experience. Could this be nerves?
The answer is no. They do not test for STD’s in urine during a routine physical. Only the presence of blood, infection, and protein. If you are unsure, go and get tested. I think they can give you antibiotics without notifying your parents. It is the doctor/patient privilege – they cannot tell.

Gonorrhea is one of the most common sexually transmitted disease caused by Neisseria gonorrhea. Symptoms of gonorrhea typically emerge two to five days after infection, though, in men, symptoms may take a month to come out. Several people do not experience symptoms; they may be entirely unconscious that they have acquired the infection, and so never ask for treatment. This boosts the danger of complications and the likelihood of passing the infection to another person.
Symptoms in men consist of burning pain in urination, increased urinary frequency and urgency, yellow or green discharge from the penis, red or inflamed opening of penis, tender and swollen testicles, and sore throat. On the other hand, symptoms in women can be really mild or imprecise, and may be flawed for another kind of infection; the symptoms include vaginal discharge, burning pain in urination, increased urination, sore throat, aching sexual intercourse, rigorous pain in lower abdomen, and fever. In case the infection spreads through the bloodstream; fever, rash, and arthritis-like symptoms might transpire.
The infection can swell via contact with the mouth, penis, vagina, or anus. The bacteria cultivate in temperate, damp areas of the body, including the urethra. The bacteria can be located in the reproductive tract including the fallopian tubes, cervix, and uterus, in women. The bacteria can also develop in the eyes. Gonorrhea is much frequent in huge cities, inner city areas, and population with poorer level of education and people with inferior socioeconomic standing. You are more expected to acquire this infection if you have various sexual partners, have a partner with a past record of any STDs, never make use of condom during sex, are a man who experienced sexual contact with another man, and have drug addiction.
Gonorrhea can promptly be recognized by streaking a sample of tissue and/or discharge and then observing it with the use of a microscope. This method is called as gram staining; even though this method is quick, it is not the most definite. Gram stains Gonorrhea tests used to diagnose the infection including cervical gram stain in women, gram stain of urethral discharge in men, and joint fluid gram stain. Cultures, which are the cells that cultivate in a lab dish, supply utter evidence of infection. Usually, samples for a culture are taken from the vagina, cervix, anus, urethra, or throat. Cultures can present a preface diagnosis frequently within 24 hours and a definite diagnosis within 72 hours.
Cultures utilized in diagnosing gonorrhea includes endocervical culture in women, urethral discharge culture in men, throat swab culture both in men and women, rectal culture both in men and women, culture of joint fluids, and blood cultures. DNA tests are particularly valuable as a screening assessment as they comprise of the lipase chain reaction (LCR) test. DNA tests are faster than cultures and such tests can be carried out on urine sample, which are considered a lot easier to gather than samples that comes from the genital area. Ask your local STD clinic about these tests; especially if you feel that you may have the illness also.
hiv aids symptoms in children

what are the symptoms of hiv/aids in children below 1yr and when can it become a full blown AIDS?
I KNOW OF A CHILD DIAGNOSED IN A HOSPITAL 6 YEARS AGO OF HAVING HIV/AIDS SYMPTOMS BUT TILLDATE THE CHILD IS HEALTHY AND STAYING ALIVE WITHOUT ANY FORM OF DEPRECIATION IN WEIGHT AND PHYSICAL LOOK.
man that is a touchy topic, i do my graduate studies on viruses, not too much on the one that causes HIV, but to explain this, everyones body is wired slightly differently the child may have aids, and possibly the particular stand he caught was slow acting which takes up to 10years for physical symptoms to occur, as apposed to the fast acting strain which can cause a person do develop full blown aids in less than a year. and well most medications typically cause aids like symptoms as it is, i’ve read of case studies where people with hiv out live people with hiv taking medication particularly azt, so i guess its safe to say that this is an exeptional case
