symptoms for chlamydia in women

Why did I test negative for chlamydia and my boyfriend test positive.?

We were both tested on the same day at different clinics. He got his results back sooer than I. He said his were positive, a few weeks later mine were negative. He says he hasn’t been with anyone else. I have, but used protection. His reason, that he claims his doctor told him, was that symtoms are sometimes not present in women and that is he reason for the negative test, but I would think that an infection is an infection and if I had it the test would be positive even if I had no symptoms. Was the doctor at his clinic accurate? We both took swab tests. If anyone can help it would be appreciated.

Other issue I see here is that, chlamydia is a localized infection, which means that depending on where you contracted you can give it from that source. For example if you contracted chlamydia from someone that had it in their mouth, then If you kiss that person and then you give oral sex to your bf without a condom, then you can pass it to him via oral sex. same can be apply for anal, vaginal sex. He can say he didn’t have sex with other people, and is up to you to believe it, he is your bf. Best of luck.

Suggestions needed to balance my vaginal ph and boost my immune system.?

I’m 35 and get chronic vaginal bacterial infections (for the past 10 years). I’ve been to MANY doctors and none of them have been able to help me prevent the infections from coming back. The docs do prescribe antibiotics but over the years I’ve probably built an immune system to them! Yes I’ve been tested for some of the common stds out there. The results were negative. The doctors I’ve been to just keep telling me that “some women are just more prone to vaginal infections than others”. Well duhhhhhh! So how do I prevent these infections? All of the basic, common sense preventative measurements have already been tried…anyone out there have any advice?

I had the exact same problem, and I found something that works GREAT for me. It’s a product called RepHresh. CVS carries it. It’s a gel that regulates the vaginal pH. For me, it was a miracle cure. It’s kind of expensive, but worth it. You use it a couple times a week.

sti testing for men

sti testing for men
I’m a male and I think that I’m getting thrush from my partner on a regular basis is that possible?

They say men don’t get thrush, but we were tested for other sti’s and all were negative. But as soon she completes her treatment weeks later after sex it just seems to return. I jet a itch and stains in my underwear in the morning and also notice a little rash. Like I’ve said we keep getting checked for sti’s but nothing.

Men can get yeast infections, they just usually are transient. If she has chronic yeast infections this could lead to repeated irritation for you. If she has been getting repeated yeast infections she should go to her doctor and get tested for yeast, have a culture to find out what type it is, and get a prescription to cure it. This will make both of you more comfortable!

std screenings

What should I do about a corrupt physicians assistant working in a sliding-fee clinic?

I just went to the clinic for my yearly STD-HIV test, and the Physicians Assistant asked “why are you getting an HIV test? are you exposed to it? are you having unprotected sex? if not, these tests are unnecessary and a waste of time.” I explained to here that I’ve always been taught to get tested every year. I used to work in an HIV testing site and since then I’ve strongly promoted annual screenings. Is that really so crazy? I am 24 year old sexually active female. I fear she is saying these things to all the girls who are getting tested and discouraging their responsibility and promoting ignorance. I want to email the health department in my county. Should I do this, or just let it go?

You have the right to report her. If you know her name and the clinics’ name or the physician who runs the place, report her directly to the physician or the director of the clinic, and/or you can go directly to the board of medicine of your state. You can google the states name and it’s medical board, and there’s a way to file a complain about physician assistants in all states. This is a good point, she shouldn’t be discouraging people who are ALREADY nervous about the test to not do it… you know?
