if you tested to all kinds of STDs and the results came back negative, what are the odds that?
this person has hiv? i mean, do people who are hiv positive (or have aids) usually have other STDs like herpies, chlamydia or hpv? i didn´t have many partners but i am panicking about it so i´ll get tested too ( cause i am always paranoid whether my ex bfs cheated on me) . my other question is: what are the odds that you can get infected while testing, i mean, there are always certain stories about nurses who spread hiv intentionally which is terrible. i live in europe, in a country which has really low hiv risk ( only about 500 people are hiv infected). tnx for your help
Why wouldn’t you just get tested for HIV instead of guessing depending on the other test results? Or get tested for all of them at the same time.
Over the past several years I have had my annual well-woman exam and always had normal pap smears. Last year my husband and I got pregnant, and during my first visit with my OB/GYN they did a routine pap smear which also came back normal. I gave birth at the end of January, and just recently went in for my 6-week postpartum check-up. They did a pap smear and the results came back abnormal so today I went back for a colposcopy and biopsy. I am extremely nervous right now, because I don’t know why my pap smear was abnormal. What might cause my abnormal pap smear? Should I be concerned about STDs and get tested? I read somewhere that HIV might cause abnormal pap smears and now I’m completely freaked out.
I think you are getting confused with HPV (Human Papilloma Virus), most women are exposed to the HPV virus at some stage and young girls are now being vaccinated against it to protect them against certain types of cervical cancer in the future.
Try not to worry, the best person to discuss this with is your Gynaecologist. There are various reasons why a smear is abnormal and most abnormalities are quite minor and get better on their own without you needing treatment.
Without knowing exactly what your pap smear result said its impossible to say what caused these changes.
Will having sex right before you get tested for STDs change your results?
I have seven hours before I got tested for STDs. The test results came back negative for all of the STDs I got tested for. I haven’t had sex since I got tested, but I’m experiencing signs of trich; a yellowish discharge, abdominal pain, and itching. Is there any way the results can be wrong, and if so did the fact that i had sex before I got tested affect them?
i don’t think it would change much since some stds take a few days or weeks or months to stabolish symptoms. std tests are accurate if done right. but if u think they are wrong then get a second opinion.
i had sex with a this guy about 2 weeks ago and a few days after i started noticing a weird odor coming from my vagina…then i got my period a few days later and didnt have the smell at all but now that its all over i notice the odor again. i also have really white discharge.
Bacterial Vaginosis comes with a foul-fishy type odor and it is especially potent when vaginal fluids mix with semen. It is somewhat itchy and irritating. Yeast Infection is extremely itchy and the discharge looks like cottage cheese. Our bodies are made to cleanse itself, especially after the period. It could be possible that is was BV and it went away on its own, which it sometimes does. Sometimes though it will not go away though the symptoms reduce. BV can be damaging to the female system if undiagnoses. I would go to the dr and get it tested. Better safe than sorry!
I am just curious as to whether any of you with STDs have told your friends or people in your social circle.
I was diagnosed recently with genital warts (HPV). I got them from a sexual assault.
I have decided to not tell anyone besides my mother and my doctor. I know if I tell one person, they could always use it against me and spread it around if we stop being friends….
What do you think? Have you told your friends? Did they spread it around?
I had Chlamydia 2 times by the same guy ( he gave it back to me) when I was 15. I had no idea what it was, we didn’t have the awareness that you all have now. But, back then when you were sick ( under 18 ) your parents were notified and since my mom was informed, she chose to tell everyone in the family. So, I didn’t have to embarrass myself, she did it for me.
Okay guys, so I’m in high school, and I’ve been with two girls. One, I went all the way with (I never gave her oral, I just fingered her, and I wore the condom) and the other girl, we just kissed. That was it! Now, however, I’m freaking out that I might have an STD cause I was reading about it online (I have to educate myself!), and it started scaring me. It’s been over 2 years since I actually had sexual relations with the first girl, but I could STILL potentially have an STD, right? I have no symptoms..I feel fine…I always have…but still, better safe than sorry, no? Should I go get tested?
First of all, you deserve a pat on the back for wearing a condom, and for wanting to know all the details about STD’s.
If you’ve only been with two girls, you’ve never had symptoms, you have no reason to think that they have anything, and you wore a condom, then it would be very unlikely for you to have an STD. Is it possible? Yes. But it is quite unlikely.
Me, I probably wouldn’t get tested. But then, I wouldn’t stay up nights worrying.
Social Workers.I need some information on Social Work. Help?
I’m 20 years old and decided to go to college this fall and i was interested in Social work specifically Special problems youth. it says i deal with youth problems such as drugs, stds, truancy and delinquet behaviors. I was wondering how many years it takes to build up that career and how much you get paid. Any information would rock !! Thanks!!!
A BSW will take you 4 years. You are then eligible to apply for advanced standing for your MSW. You can practice in the area you indicate but it will be at an entry level. Salaries at a BSW level can range from 20-30 K depending on where in the country you are. At the MSW level salary can range from 30 to 40+ again depending on what part of the country you are in. You can look at Salary.com for good specific salary info on the area you want to live and work in. DA
OK so I’m 17 (from Holland) and for the last 10 years iv grown up in England. Having gone through the English education system i have always had lots of sex education and (having liberal parents) have always grown up believing that sex is a great and healthy thing to have with some you love but you just have to be careful because of all the STD’s and STI’s and pregnancy
also i have been educated by the media ( Internet,TV etc)
so i wonder when you have teens on here wondering if they are pregnant or how to use contraception i wonder , how can they be so ignorant??? All the information is out there !!
my friends and i have for the last couple of years have managed to hold down sexual relationships without getting pregnant or getting diseases.
How can it be that these teens can get so miss guided and ignorant of the facts of life?
*sorry i did’nt re read my question through , the grammer isnt very good
They just don’t listen, in some cases, not with everyone, but they think just the Pill with stop them getting pregnant
